John McCain endorses the “Phony” Mitt Romney prior to the New Hampshire 2012 Primary. I guess McCain believes a “Phoney” is what is needed to lead the U.S.A.

President-elect Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain sat down in Chicago on Monday, November 17, 2008 to discuss how they can collaborate on issues facing the country.

The video above is mostly a photo-op, but it seems they did eventually talk about some important issues, including closing the Guantanamo Bay prison where alleged terror suspects are currently being held.

The first votes in the 2008 Presidential Election were counted just after midnight in Dixville Notch, NH with Barack Obama getting 15 votes and John McCain 6 votes.

Now, after all the votes are counted and the electoral college votes are allocated, the 44th President of the United States of America is Barack Obama and Vice President of course is Joe Biden.

It was projected Barack Obama would be President-elect as soon as the polls closed on the west coast. Fittingly, Hawaii where his Grandmother passed away just the other day was one of the states that put him over the top.

270 electoral college votes were needed and Barack Obama won 364 electoral college votes, while John McCain won 163 electoral college votes. (to be updated as 1 state still not decided – Missouri – 11 electoral votes)

John McCain congratulated Barack Obama in his concession speech in Arizona with his wife Cindy and running mate Sarah Palin with her husband Todd on stage.

The Presidential inauguration will take place on January 20, 2009 when Barack Obama and Joe Biden are sworn in as President and Vice President.

The first votes that were recorded for this 2008 Presidential Election came just after midnight when the 21 registered voters of Dixville Notch, New Hampshire cast their votes and they were quickly counted to be released to the public as Dixville Notch has traditionally been known as “First in the Nation”.

For a little history on Dixville Notch being “First in the Nation” here’s a quote from The Balsams Resort:

“In 1952, New Hampshire first provided its residents with the opportunity to vote in Presidential primaries. In these early elections, many small towns around the state competed to get their votes in first. But ever since Dixville Notch was granted the privilege of being a voting community in 1960, it has continuously maintained the honor of being First in the Nation to report its results of the Presidential election.

In order to maintain this honorary status, every single registered voter in Dixville Notch must turn out and vote. Just before midnight the day before the election, these voters come to The BALSAMS and take a headcount to ensure everyone is present. When the polls officially open at the strike of midnight, each voter heads to a booth in the Ballot Room and casts his or her vote. The entire process takes about a minute.”

It’s interesting to note that Dixville Notch has traditionally been a win for Republicans since 1960, so is this an early sign of what’s to come tonight when the polls across The United States of America close?

Sarah Palin got punk’d when a Quebec comedy duo prank called the Alaska Governor and John McCain’s Vice Presidential running mate.

The Canadian comedians, known as the Masked Avengers, called Palin posing as France President Nicolas Sarkozy. Marc-Antoine Audette was the one who was playing the part of Sarkozy and he completely had Sarah Palin fooled.

“We have such great respect for you, John McCain and I, we love you,” Palin says to the fake Sarkozy.

The fake Sarkozy goes on to tell Palin that one of his favorite pastimes is hunting. In response Palin says, “We should go hunting together. We can have a lot of fun together while we’re getting work done. We could kill two birds with one stone.”

Fake Sarkozy then jokes that they shouldn’t bring Dick Cheney on the hunt, referring to the 2006 incident in which the vice-president shot-and-injured a friend while hunting quail.

“I’ll be a careful shot,” responds Palin

Throughout the call Marc-Antoine Audette (as Sarkozy) drops many hints that this is a prank call. He identifies French singer and actor Johnny Hallyday as his special adviser to the U.S., singer Stef Carse as Canada’s prime minister and Quebec comedian and radio host Richard Z. Sirois as the provincial premier.

Audette tells her at the end of the call that it was a prank.

“Oh, have we been pranked?” Palin asks.
