It’s Official! Barack Obama has picked Joe Biden to be his running mate.

It has finally been posted on Barack Obama’s official website Biden is his pick as the media have been eagerly waiting all day Friday to find out who Obama’s pick was.

Into Friday evening Obama’s VP pick was still not announced and the media were reporting his pick was to be sent by text message sometime Saturday morning. Sources were confirming it wasn’t going to be Hillary and many were hinting it was Joe Biden.

Then, late Friday night/early Saturday it was confirmed that Joe Biden was Barack Obama’s pick for VP and it was posted on the Obama website, as text messages starting going out.

We would have to assume Joe Biden was chosen for his foreign policy experience. We’ll have to wait and see what this announcement does for Obama’s campaign.

This now gives the media something to talk about all weekend as a lead up to the Democratic National Convention on Monday, August 25, but I’m sure they were hoping for their “Dream Ticket” of Obama/Clinton.

We now await John McCain to make his pick for VP running mate, which is sure to come very soon as well. Perhaps just before the Republican Convention which is on September 1.
