News stations really love those sex scandals don’t they? Well, John Edwards has given them a story that I’m sure you’ll be seeing non-stop over the next few days.
Even with the Russia and Georgia conflict breaking out, it seems the news wants to focus on John Edwards affair with videographer Rielle Hunter.
CNN’s Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer has almost focused entirely on the John Edwards affair with only brief mentions of the fighting in Georgia. As soon as they finish reporting on the Georgia fighting, they go right back to the ‘John Edwards Sex Scandal’. Non-stop coverage!
If you go to CNN.com you’ll see the top story is the John Edwards affair as shown in the screenshot on the right with the caption ‘Edwards Admits to extramarital affair.
Sure, the affair is news worthy, but not to the extent they are running with this thing. Why not more on the suspicious nature of the Anthrax investigation? Why not more coverage of forged letter to link Iraq and Al Qaeda-9/11? Why not more coverage of Dennis Kucinich’s attempts to impeach George Bush?
CNN isn’t alone with the love of ‘Sex Scandals’. Of course FOX News is going to have a field day with this, as you would expect from them since John Edwards is a Democrat. The screenshot from their website is on the right with the caption ‘EDWARDS ADMITS AFFAIR’.
Would FOX News ever have a top story featuring Karl Rove Being Caught Lying About Iraq War? Rove is like a God to them over there.
MSNBC’s website is a little better with the main focus on the Russia/Georgia battle and the John Edwards affair story pushed to the right, as shown in the screen shot below.

Get ready for them to spin this for all it’s worth over the next week, unless some other scandal peaks their interest.
